Selsdon Mowbray in Michael Frayn's Noises Off

Gary Enns as Selsdon Mowbray in Noises Off
Now I can safely say that I have lived one of my life dreams—to play a washed up American actor playing a Cockney burglar in a farcical play with a set that rotates on a gigantic lazy Susan.

I played Selsdon Mowbray in the BC Theatre presentation of Michael Frayn's Noises Off (March 2-5, Edward Simonsen Theatre). Selsdon is a thespian whose glory days are clearly in the past but who may just have one last great performance in him—that is, if he can just lay off the liquor and remember his entrances and lines.

Rehearsal for Michael Frayn's was like a terrifying free fall.
